My experience started as a passionate hairdresser, knowing from day one that I wanted to own my salon; I bought my 1st salon after 4 years as a stylist. Many things happened (good and bad) in my 1st years of ownership. I remember trading color consultations and blow-outs for spreadsheets, staff issues, and overhead worries. It felt like the joy of doing what I loved was slowly fading — but I believed the business side didn’t have to kill the passion.

At this point I realized I needed help so I hired a coach from Salon Training International. (a big and scary leap of faith) I grew as an owner and saw my business grow and learned I loved the busienss side of the busienss too.

After 3 years I sold my salon and moved to California to learn to help owners like myself. I was honored to manage the consulting department of Salon Training International, and help other hundreds of salons reach their potential. In 2011 I made the decision to again became a busienss owner and open Salon Spa Business Solutions.

I’ve spent over 38 years living and breathing the salon-spa world — Along the way I learned what truly makes a salon or spa work — from hands-on service to smart management and real financial know-how. Seeing first-hand how much potential is out there inspired me to help others build a business they love, not just a job.

With every salon I helped, I saw what was possible: talented stylists becoming confident owners, chaotic spas transforming into smooth-running businesses, and overwhelmed owners finally getting their lives back. I am inspired every day watching Salon Owners grow, get their passion back and create a profitable busienss.

I’ve been a stylist since 2002, an independent salon owner, and now a business coach for stylists ready to build something of their own. With over two decades of experience both behind the chair and in salon management, I understand the challenges stylists face when stepping into business ownership. 

I began my career in a commission-based salon, learning firsthand what works — and what doesn’t — in the salon business. In 2016, I took the plunge and became an independent stylist and businesswoman. Like many stylists, I quickly realized that technical skill alone isn’t enough to build a thriving business. I struggled with debt, burnout, and uncertainty until I invested in an amazing business coach. I received support through accountability, tools, and confidence. It's the best business decision I ever made. 

After working with Deb, I was able to eliminate debt, gain financial stability, and the freedom to enjoy life outside of work. My journey taught me that success comes from combining artistry with business strategy — and now I am passionate about sharing knowledge that supports stylists and helps them achieve their dreams. Working with a business coach was pivotal for me, both professionally and personally, and I'm honored to fill such an important role and guide successful stylists toward their goals.
